Philosophy
Human Capital Development’s perspective on corporate learning is that there are at least two separate sets of learning objectives to meet in every program; the objectives of the organization and the objectives of each individual learner. Adult learning is an interesting paradox. It requires individual work --- absorption and reflection – and relies on social interaction that enables experimentation, exploration and application into each company’s cultural context. For HCD, this means that each design needs to work with each specific culture while it meets the individual learning needs.
HCD program designers have a broad range of exposure across different industries and different countries. This means that programs are designed at minimum to accommodate the needs of culturally diverse learners, and often, to take advantage of the diversity and richness that multicultural participants bring to learning events.
